This page outlines how American Heritage School – Salt Lake Campus evaluates new students. The evaluation process ensures students are placed in the appropriate levels of classes and programs, thus maximizing the learning opportunities for each student.
- Report Cards and Transcripts Required. All new students applying for admission to Grades 1-8 will need to provide the most recent Report Card from their previous school.
- Full Academic Assessment Required for Students Applying for Grades 1 – 8. All new applicants must be assessed at the School. The cost of the assessment is built into the $75 application fee. The assessment includes a full battery of subject matter evaluations in math, reading, spelling, and writing and also includes a written summary of results. After a successful Admission Family Interview, you will be contacted to schedule an Assessment.
- Kindergarten Readiness Assessment Required. All Kindergarten applicants must be evaluated for basic Kindergarten readiness. Kindergarten Readiness Assessments will be conducted at the School. The cost of the assessment is built into the $75 application fee. After a successful Admission Family Interview, you will be contacted to schedule an Assessment.
- The school employs a number of standardized assessments: STAR Early Literacy, STAR Reading, and STAR Math.
