AHS serves families. In return, the Parent Service Organization (PSO) serves AHS. Serving one another is a vital element of AHS culture.
Thirty hours of service are required per family each year. As you serve, we believe you will:
- establish new friendships,
- experience a spirit of unity, and
- learn about the school’s curriculum and methods.
Service opportunities are shared frequently on the PSO GroupMe to help you fulfill the service requirement.
Service categories may suit your talents and interests:
- Committees
- Event planning or support
- Grounds beautification
- Facilities work
- Lunchroom or recess supervision
- Chaperoning field trips or experiential learning
- At-home projects for teachers
- In-class service
Families record their service using the AHS Service Hour app, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, or online.
