The AHS SLC Mountain Bike Club is open to all students in grades 7–12, regardless of experience, and welcomes both boys and girls who want to ride, learn, and explore the outdoors together. Participants will gain essential skills both on and off the bike, including basic maintenance and trail techniques, while enjoying some of the valley’s best trails located within 45 minutes of campus. Whether you’re a beginner or hoping to join a future race team, this camp offers a fun and supportive environment to grow as a rider. More than just biking, it’s an opportunity to connect with others, build confidence, and experience Heavenly Father’s creations in a unique and meaningful way. Camp sessions begin this summer, with weekend trail rides continuing throughout the year.

WHY: This club is being formed to provide an opportunity for students to be a part of something great! Heavenly Father has given us so much in nature, and this will be an opportunity to see His creations in a unique way. 

WHO: This new club is for any student (7–12 grade) who’s interested in mountain biking. Any skill and experience level. Boys and Girls are encouraged to join! 

WHAT: The mountain biking club for American Heritage Salt Lake City, is intended to be a group that appreciates mountain biking and what opportunities the sport offers. This unique club is for those who simply want to ride with other enthusiasts and for those interested in being part of a future race team, possibly as soon as the 2026 race season. This first 2025 season will include:

• Periodic trail rides, mostly on Saturdays, with specific dates to be announced; please complete the registration and form below to express interest.
• Summer training camp to teach the basics of the sport and provide learning opportunities both about the bike and on the bike. 

WHEN: We will start with an opening meeting and gear check on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 5 PM at the AHS parking lot, and a first kick-off ride on Saturday, May 31 at 9 AM, also meeting in the AHS parking lot. 

Regular club rides will be on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. With the exception of the first ride being the last weekend of May for the camp kickoff.

COST: There is no participation cost this season other than the cost of gear.

WHERE: The club will take advantage of the beautiful trails that are spread throughout the Salt Lake Valley. Within 45 minutes of the school, we have dozens of trails to pick and choose from. There is potential for future trips to Moab, St. George, and similar areas.
