AHS Uniform Supplier Changes '25–'26 FAQ's

Who is our new uniform supplier in ’25–’26?

Dennis Uniform has closed their business. Going forward, ScholarWear will be our exclusive provider for all uniform items K–8 and our primary supplier for all 9–12 items. New uniform items will be ready to purchase by late summer of 2025 (stay tuned for a schoolwide notification announcing the specific day when shelves will be stocked). You can find location details, contact information, and hours of operation at ScholarWear’s website. Some additional items can be purchased from Land’s End as will be noted in the policy.

What new items am I required to purchase for the ’25–’26 School year?

All students are required to purchase the full Friday Dress uniform by the first Friday of school (August 22, 2025). While students may purchase new items for the Monday–Thursday uniform, we are allowing a grandfathering period so that currently owned items do not immediately become obsolete.

How long is the grandfathering period?

For the Monday–Thursday uniform, we will allow a full year to grandfather out items purchased from Dennis, Land’s End, and Anton. Starting in the 2026–2027 school year, all uniform items must be the new items approved from ScholarWear in K–8 and ScholarWear and other approved vendors in 9–12. The blue blazer worn by high school boys on Dress Fridays will be grandfathered indefinitely.

Which articles of the uniform have a school logo?

Every article worn over the torso will have a school logo with the exception of the high school boys’ blazer.

What is the cost of the new uniform?

Pricing with ScholarWear will be comparable to the pricing with Dennis. However, the quality of ScholarWear articles is superior to that of Dennis articles.

Answering Common Questions About the Uniform Changes

What about boys’ elementary and high school ties that aren’t changing?
They can still be worn. They’re being “grandfathered in.”

Do senior girls need to buy the new cardigan?
Yes, even girls in their final year must buy it.

Can students keep wearing the old Macbeth plaid skirt since the pattern isn’t changing?
Not exactly. While the pattern stays the same, the fabric and design are different. During the transition year, the Dennis skirt can be worn Monday–Thursday, but only the new ScholarWear skirt is allowed on Fridays and after the transition year.

Can girls keep wearing the old navy vests?
Only during the transition year and only Monday–Thursday. Like the skirts, the new vests are different enough that they’ll fully replace the old ones after that.

Do I need to buy the new Friday short-sleeve oxford shirt?
Yes.

Will there be a picture of the Monday–Thursday uniform?
Yes. We’re still working on it and will post it once it’s ready. The main items (polos, pants, shorts, and skirts) are staying, but the polo shirts will now have logos, and pants will be gray instead of the current color—for both boys and girls.

Who should I ask if I have more questions about the uniform changes?

Please contact the front office.

When will the Active Uniform be required for PE classes and athletics practices?

Not yet. The Uniform Committee is still figuring out the details, so for now, students should keep following the current rules.
