Experiential Learning Interest Survey

During the 2023–2024 school year, high school experiential learning will take place March 4–8, 2024. We want to learn about your interests and ideas for experiential learning, including externship ideas.

Please take a few minutes to complete the survey below. Estimated completion time is 3–4 minutes.

As you complete the survey, you may find it is helpful to refer to the 2022–2023 catalog, which includes descriptions of each experiential learning course offered that school year.

Of the courses you checked above, which would be your top three in order of preference.
Please list any other ideas for course topics that you would like which were not included in the above list.
Externships

Externships

An externship is a short-term, experiential learning opportunity that allows individuals to gain practical knowledge and skills in a specific field or industry. It is similar to an internship but typically has a shorter duration. At American Heritage School's Salt Lake City Campus, externships are for five work days, from March 4–8, 2024.

During an externship, individuals have the opportunity to observe and shadow professionals in their chosen field, gaining insights into the day-to-day activities, responsibilities, and challenges. It provides a chance to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting and make connections with professionals in the industry. Externships can be beneficial for students, recent graduates, or anyone seeking to explore a particular career path or industry before making a longer-term commitment.
