Mauri Richmond

Spanish Teacher

Mauri is passionate about teaching Spanish through the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loves working closely with students to teach them to love the diversity of other peoples and cultures, and to reach out to serve and love Spanish-speaking peoples. She treasures the opportunity to teach and help cultivate the learning in her students, and to help their characters to grow to their greatest potential.

Mauri learned Spanish serving a full-time mission in the Republic of Panamá and uses it daily to the best of her ability to love and help others know Jesus Christ. She further developed her teaching and Spanish skills through her intensive experience as a Spanish and gospel teacher for full-time missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has worked with all Spanish proficiency levels in a variety of settings and is trained in teaching the most current researched methods for lasting and meaningful language acquisition.

Mauri received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Translation & Localization at Brigham Young University, with a minor in Cultural Dance. In her free time, she loves reading literature, escaping to the outdoors, and spending time with her family, the treasure of her heart.

“It means everything to me to have the privilege of working with the young minds of this country, to prepare them in their knowledge and capacity to strengthen and love others from all backgrounds, and to become all that the Lord has planned for them to become, beyond their wildest imaginations. I believe that among the greatest and most powerful ways He encourages us to develop the selflessness and humility of such service is to learn and love the tongues and cultures of other peoples, and to use them to build bridges of collaboration and appreciation across the world.”
